Bill Babb founded Babb Financial Group in Flagstaff in 1981. What he built reflected who he was: a man shaped by hard circumstances, Midwestern values, and a genuine interest in helping people plan for what mattered most to them. The firm he started is the foundation everything here is built on.
Born in Iowa.
Built in Flagstaff.
Bill Babb was born in a small town in Iowa, weighing four pounds and given his last rites three times. He survived. That fact alone says something about the kind of person he became, and about the values he carried into every chapter of his life.
His father worked at a meatpacking plant by day and raced cars at night, not for recognition but to provide for a family of five children. That image of a man working two jobs to take care of his family stayed with Bill. It shaped how he thought about money, responsibility, and what it means to plan for the future.
Before founding the firm, Bill served as a sergeant in the United States Army, raced cars himself, earned degrees from Northern Arizona University, and worked as an administrator at NAU. In 1981, after following his high school sweetheart to Arizona, he founded Babb Financial Group in Flagstaff. The goal was simple: build something that would have a lasting impact on the community and the people in it.
Bill also co-founded the Childhelp Flagstaff Chapter alongside his wife Jill, and the Cheryl Babb Memorial Scholarship Fund at NAU continues to honor the memory of his late wife Cheryl. His roots in Flagstaff run deep, and so does the firm's.
